Agartala, July 8 -- To enhance transparency in electricity billing and improve consumer services, Tripura government has initiated the installation of smart electric meters at key locations, including the residences and offices of cabinet ministers and 2,700 employees of the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) from today.

Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that the installation process has already begun with the Chief Minister's official residence and chamber, and will gradually be extended to all government departments. Two dedicated offices will be set up to monitor the operations and performance of these smart meters across the state.
