Nagpur, Dec. 12 -- The Chairman of the Legislative Council, Kripal Tumane today ordered a detailed inquiry into the alleged sale of entry passes required to access the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly premises and directed action against officials involved in the distribution.

The directive comes after Shiv Sena member Hemant Patil, during the fifth day of the Winter Session, alleged that visitor passes were being sold for Rs 1,500.

Speaking in the House, Patil said some of his party workers were unable to obtain passes despite submitting official requests, while passes were reportedly being sold outside the Assembly premises.
