Dhaka, Dec. 27 -- Activists of Inqilab Moncha returned to the Shahbagh intersection on Saturday, resuming their sit-in shortly after BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman concluded his visit to the grave of the platform's slain spokesperson, Sharif Osman Hadi.

The protesters, who had spent the previous night occupying the busy intersection, had temporarily shifted their position to the Aziz Super Market area at around 9:30am.

Organisers said the move was made to facilitate Rahman's visit and to allow security arrangements to be maintained during his presence in the area.

Rahman laid a wreath and offered prayers at Hadi's grave, which lies beside the grave of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam near the Dhaka University Central Mosque.
