Kolkata, July 2 -- India's engineering sector should focus on design as a key differentiator to drive the next level of growth in exports, according to joint secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Vimal Anand.

"To unlock the next phase of growth and achieve our ambitious export targets, we must move beyond cost competitiveness alone. The global buyer today seeks not only functionality and price, but also user experience, sustainability, aesthetics, and intelligent solutions. This is where design plays an indispensable role," he said while addressing a seminar on Design Interventions for Engineering Exports.
