Chandigarh, March 16 -- The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has decided to distance itself from the ongoing Rajya Sabha elections for two seats in Haryana, a move that is expected to alter the victory quota for the contesting candidates.
While the polling is underway in the Haryana Assembly committee room, the INLD leadership confirmed that their legislators will not participate in the voting process.
Following a party meeting chaired by supremo Abhay Singh Chautala, the party opted for neutrality to avoid allegations of being the "B-team" of the BJP if they supported the independent candidate, while simultaneously wishing to avoid aiding the Congress.
