Bengaluru, Jan. 5 -- Alleged misuse of the Kaveri 2.0 registration software has come under the scanner in connection with a high-value land transaction involving IT major Infosys, leading to the suspension of multiple sub-registrars and a widening probe into fraudulent property registrations in Bengaluru.

Senior officials in the Department of Stamps and Registration said exemptions meant for registrations backed by court orders under the Kaveri 2.0 system were allegedly misused to execute sale deeds where no such court orders existed.

Investigators found that several sale deeds related to the Infosys land sale were registered by falsely selecting the 'court order' option, bypassing mandatory safeguards.
