Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 24 -- Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala on Tuesday demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister, alleging serious misuse of personal data of government employees for election campaigning, and welcomed the intervention of the Kerala High Court in the matter.

Addressing the media here, he said the High Court's stand against the government's action of leaking employees' personal information and circulating campaign-related messages was justified.

He termed the move an intrusion into privacy and said neither the Chief Minister nor any authority has the right to access or use such data for political purposes.
