Chandigarh, Aug. 26 -- A disturbing incident has been reported from Rajindra Hospital in Patiala, where the severed head of an infant was allegedly spotted near Ward No. 4 on Tuesday evening.
Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh has directed a detailed inquiry and instructed both hospital authorities and the local police to investigate the matter. The remains have been handed over to forensic experts for examination.
Dr. Vishal Chopra, Medical Superintendent of Rajindra Hospital, said that an internal review has been conducted and all newborns delivered in recent days are accounted for. He confirmed that no case of a missing infant has been reported.
