Bhopal, July 17 -- Indore has bagged the first prize in the 'Swachch Sarvekshan - 2024' awards in the category of the 'Super Swachch League', which included cities with a population of over 10 lakh, and Bhopal stood second in the overall category of the cleanest cities in India.
President Droupadi Murmu gave the award for Indore to Madhya Pradesh Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya and Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, at a function held in New Delhi today.
Cities that ranked in the top 3 between 2021 and 2023 were included in the Super Swachch League. Indore has bagged the first prize for the cleanest city in India seven times in a row, since the national cleanliness awards began.
