Jakarta, Sept. 1 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has issued a press statement regarding the recent demonstrations that have continued in several regions across the country, stressing that the state will uphold public order and security in accordance with the law.

He said on Sunday that political parties had taken firm action against their members in parliament who committed misconduct, including the revocation of membership, allowances, and overseas working visits, in response to public concerns.

He also called on the House of Representatives to open dialogue with community leaders and civil society groups to strengthen communication channels.
