Jakarta, July 31 -- Indonesian, Japanese and Peruvian meteorological agencies have lifted their tsunami warnings issued following the massive earthquake in Russia's Kamchatka, media reported on Thursday.

Indonesia's Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics lifted the tsunami warning at 11 p.m. local time (16:00 GMT) on Wednesday. The magnitude 8.8 earthquake struck Russia's Kamchatka peninsula earlier that day, sending waves across the Indo-Pacific. Indonesian authorities responded by issuing a tsunami warning and giving evacuation orders to residents of coastal areas in five provinces.
