Kolkata, Oct. 17 -- IndiGo Airlines has decided to start Kolkata-London direct flight service from October 26, conceding a long-standing demand of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to resume aerial connectivity between the UK and Kolkata.
Banerjee during her visit with a business delegation from the state in March to the UK has appealed to the Indian High Commission for starting a direct flight between London and Kolkata. For now the private airliner IndiGo has decided to start a one-stop flight via Mumbai from October 26 onwards.
