New Delhi, Dec. 13 -- An IndiGo aircraft experienced a tail strike during landing at Ranchi airport, officials reported on Saturday.

A senior officer said that the incident took place at around 7.30 p.m. on Friday, when the Bhubaneswar-Ranchi flight was landing with approximately 70 passengers on board, they said.

"The aircraft's tail struck the runway during landing, causing passengers to feel a sudden jolt. However, all passengers were safe and unharmed," a Ranchi airport official said.

Airport and airline officials said the aircraft landed safely, with no immediate reports of injuries to passengers or crew. The cause of the incident is yet to be determined, however, further details into this is awaited.
