New Delhi, March 28 -- : A full emergency was declared on Saturday morning at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport after an IndiGo flight traveling from Visakhapatnam to the capital reported an engine failure mid-air.

According to the preliminary reports of the incident, IndiGo flight 6E 579, a Boeing 737-800 carrying 161 people, experienced an issue with one of its engines during the journey. A full emergency was declared at 10:39 am as the aircraft neared Delhi.

The aircraft had ample fuel on board, with an estimated endurance of more than six hours, and was directed to land on Runway 28. It landed safely at 10:54 am.
