Chennai, Oct. 30 -- Component makers for Indian wind energy industry, including the original equipment manufacturers (OEM), should increase the local content to 85 per cent from the current 64 per cent, said Pralhad Joshi, union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

Speaking at the 7th edition of Windergy India 2025, Joshi said increasing domestic value addition is essential to strengthen India's clean energy supply chain amid evolving global dynamics and rising geopolitical challenges.
