New Delhi, Dec. 19 -- Indian Railways has marked another milestone in freight operations with the launch of the Niryat Cargo Express, an export-oriented assured rail service, operating as a double-stack container train from the Ichhapuri Container Terminal in Gurugram to Mundra Port in Gujarat.
The time-tabled service, aimed at enabling faster and more cost-effective exports, is being run from Ichhapuri for the first time, building on the success of 20 earlier assured-transit trips operated from Garhi, Gurugram.
