Visakhapatnam, March 21 -- The Indian Navy is set to commission its latest stealth frigate, 'Taragiri (F41)', on April 3, 2026, marking a significant milestone in India's pursuit of maritime self-reliance.

The commissioning ceremony will be presided over by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, a defence release on Saturday.

Taragiri is the fourth warship under the Project 17A class of stealth frigates and has been built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Mumbai.

Weighing around 6,670 tonnes, the warship features advanced stealth capabilities with a reduced radar cross-section, enhancing its operational effectiveness in modern naval warfare.
