New Delhi, Aug. 25 -- The Indian Navy is scheduled to simultaneously commission two latest state-of-the-art multi-mission stealth frigates - Udaygiri and Himgiri - as part of the Project 17A, at the Naval Base in Visakhapatnam tomorrow.

The commissioning ceremony will be presided over by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, a Defence Ministry statement said today.

This will be the first occasion when two frontline surface combatants, constructed at two different shipyards, will be commissioned simultaneously, underscoring the growing maritime importance of India's eastern seaboard.
