Chennai, Aug. 8 -- Indian life insurance industry logged good growth in new business premium (NBP) last month compared to the corresponding period last year, the Life Insurance Council said today.

According to the Council, the industry has also registered growth in business till now over this fiscal year corresponding to the previous year.

The NBP expanded from Rs 31,822.69 crore in July 2024 to Rs 38,958.05 crore in July'25, while year-to-date (YTD) collections increased from Rs 1,21,549.39 crore to Rs 1,32,502.63 crore.

According to the Council's data, individual single premiums grew 19.44% on a year-on-year (Y-o-Y) basis to close at Rs.5,506.81 crore in July 2025, while YTD growth stood at 14.09%.
