Lucknow, Dec. 1 -- Top seeds Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand clinched their second consecutive Syed Modi International women's doubles crown with a hard-fought 17-21, 21-13, 21-15 win over Japan's Kaho Osawa and Mai Tanabe in the final at the Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium.

According to Olympics.com, the first game saw Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand trail 11-9 at the interval before conceding the opener.

Ranked No. 14 in the world, the Indian pair recovered from a game down in the 76-minute contest to retain their title. Treesa and Gayatri conceded the opener but mounted a strong comeback. They took charge early in the second game, leading 11-5 at the break before forcing a decider.
