New Delhi, Oct. 17 -- The Indian Army today signed a contract worth Rs 130.58 crores with M/s JBM Auto Ltd for the procurement of 113 electric buses along with 43 fast chargers, the Indian Army said in a statement.
This contract marks the first of its kind for the Army and aligns with the Prime Minister's E-DRIVE initiative aimed at promoting cleaner and greener technologies.
The induction of these electric buses will usher in a new era of technology within the three services, marking a significant step towards sustainable and eco-friendly transportation. Their deployment will reduce dependence on fossil fuels and promote green technology.
