New Delhi, Oct. 15 -- In a significant boost to India's air defence capabilities following Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army has inked a contract to procure the Light Weight Modular Missile (LMM) System.
The move aims to strengthen the Corps of Army Air Defence with advanced capabilities to detect and neutralize high-value drones and UAV threats.
The contract is signed with M/s Thales, UK, here today, for procurement of the missile system. LMM, a light weight and Manportable missile system, can be deployed in operational areas including the High-Altitude Areas.
The missile operates on Laser Beam Riding principle and is resistant to evasive actions taken by modern day aerial platforms.
