Srinagar, Aug. 29 -- In a solemn tribute to the valour and sacrifice of the Indian Army, a Tricolour was hoisted at an hillock in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir to mark Hajipir Day, commemorating the historic capture of Hajipir Pass during the 1965 war.
The event, organised by the Army's Baramulla-based Dagger Division with support from the Flag Foundation of India, saw the Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava proudly hoist the Tricolour at Cheetah Post overlooking Baramulla town and the Jhelum River, the Army said.
