Aizawl, April 2 -- Relief supplies dispatched by the Indian Air Force (IAF) for earthquake-affected communities in central Myanmar have reached Zokhawthar, a border village in Mizoram's Champhai district, sources confirmed on Wednesday.
The humanitarian aid, flown in by an IAF C-17 Globemaster on Tuesday, was transported from Aizawl to Zokhawthar by the Assam Rifles using multiple trucks.
The first batch, consisting of rice, drinking water, medicines, water filters, and tents, arrived at the village around 10 am on Wednesday, with the remaining consignments following later in the day. However, Assam Rifles officials declined to disclose the total number of trucks deployed, citing the sensitivity of the matter.
