New Delhi, Aug. 2 -- India has clinched the U17 women's team title at the World Wrestling Championships, the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) announced today.

In a celebratory post on X, WFI wrote, "India wins U17 Women's Team Title at the World Wrestling Championship with 151 pts! Ahead of the USA (2nd) & Japan (3rd). A proud moment for Indian young wrestlers!"

According to WFI, the Indian Women's wrestling team bagged a total of six medals- two golds, three silvers and one bronze.

The achievement marks a historic back to back triumph for India's U17 women's wrestling team on the world stage. With a total of 151 points, India outperformed wrestling powerhouses USA, who secured 142 points and Japan, secured third position with 113 p...
