New Delhi, Oct. 6 -- India said today that it will work with any government that emerges through the mandate of the people of Bangladesh, in the elections slated for February 2026.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, interacting with a group of journalists from the Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB), also said that regarding former PM Sheikh Hasina's extradition, that there is a judicial and legal process involved which involves consultations between the two governments andNew Delhi is looking into the issue.

"We will work with any government that emerges through the mandate of the people of Bangladesh, and there is no doubt that a certain mandate will be expressed through the election," he said.
