New Delhi, Jan. 9 -- Amid China conducting military drills in the waters surrounding Taiwan, India today said it is closely following the developments and urged all concerned parties to exercise restraint and resolve issues through peaceful means.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, addressing the weekly media briefing, urged the parties to eschew unilateral action.

"India closely follows developments across the Indo-Pacific region. We have an abiding interest in peace and stability in the region in view of our significant trade, economic, people to people and maritime interests.
