New Delhi, Feb. 25 -- In a significant push to strengthen India's indigenous underwater communication capabilities, the Technology Development Board (TDB) has signed an agreement with Xalten Systems Pvt. Ltd. to develop a high-performance acoustic antenna system capable of enabling real-time, high-data-rate underwater communication, including video transmission.

The project aims to bridge a critical technology gap and position India at the forefront of advanced marine communication systems.

Supported by TDB and undertaken in collaboration with Subnero Pte Ltd, the initiative will focus on next-generation hydrophone array sensor systems designed to deliver reliable, high-bandwidth connectivity between autonomous underwater platforms.
