New Delhi/Moscow, Aug. 13 -- In the face of the new exorbitant 50% tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump, India is seeking to diversify its trade partners to mitigate the effects, as well as reduce reliance on one single market, thus eyeing 50 new countries in the process, reports RT.

India is expanding its trade ties from West Asia to East Africa, RT said on X: "Reducing the reliance on a single market, India is broadening its horizons with 50 trade partners - while striving to improve every product and make it competitive.

"The 50 account for 90% of India's exports, as New Delhi attempts to mitigate any fallout from Washington imposing 50% tariffs for buying Russian oil."
