Nagpur, Nov. 8 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday asserted India's universal thought has reached the entire world through yoga therapy.
Speaking at an international yoga conference here, Fadnavis referenced the global reach of yoga, noting that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the proposal for International Yoga Day in the United Nations, there was no opposition and today more than 150 countries celebrate it.
He said with rising incidences of lifestyle diseases and stress-related ailments, health experts view yoga as a cost-effective, community-based intervention. "India's universal thought has reached the entire world through yoga therapy," he remarked.
