Mumbai, March 21 -- Maharashtra's Minister for Fisheries and Ports Nitesh Rane on Friday directed Sweden's Candela company to implement a pilot project of eco-friendly water taxi and commence this operation immediately.
Once implemented, it will be the country's first e-water taxi.
The announcement followed a strategic meeting between Minister Rane and Swedish Consul General Ostberg, during which the two sides discussed the potential of eco-friendly marine mobility in easing Mumbai's perennial traffic woes, with key inputs from Saloni Zaveri, Ostberg's advisor and senior government officials.
