Bengaluru, Feb. 15 -- Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday announced that India's first "Made in India" semiconductor chip from a commercial facility is expected to be operational by September or October this year, marking a significant leap forward in the country's technological self-reliance. Addressing a press conference, Vaishnaw said, "Under the leadership of our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, we now have five semiconductor units under construction.
