Dharwad, Oct. 14 -- union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today highlighted India's rapid fintech adoption, noting that digital payment usage in the country stands at around 87 percent, compared to the global average of 61-62 percent.
She said this demonstrates the scale, speed, and widespread acceptance of fintech solutions in India.
"As a result, digital adoption in payments in India is around 87%, compared to 61-62% globally. This shows the scale of the fintech revolution, the strong foundation created, and its rapid acceptance by people," Sitharaman said replying to a question regarding students' growing interest in fintech industries and startups.
