Chennai, Dec. 7 -- India lost to defending champions Germany 1-5in the semifinals of the Junior Men's World Cup Hockey tournamenthere tonight.

It wasa dominant show by the reigning champions which led 3-0 athalf time as it eyes to retain the title in the title clash.

India will now play in the playoffs for the third and fourth place againstAregentina, which lost 1-2 to Spain.

India still keeps its hopes alive of a podium finish and with a bronzemedal on Decemebr 10 when the title clash will be held betweenGermany and Spain.

Anmol Ekka (51') scored the lone goal for India, while Lukas Kossel(14', 30'), Titus Wex (15'), Jonas von Gersum (40') and Ben Hasbach(49') were found the target for Germany.
