New Delhi, July 14 -- The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project has marked a significant milestone with the opening of the first section of the 21-km undersea tunnel between Ghansoli and Shilphata in Maharashtra. This segment is part of the ambitious 508-km corridor being built with Japanese Shinkansen technology.
According to a statement from the Union Railways Ministry, civil works are progressing at a rapid pace across the alignment.
"So far, 310 km viaduct has been constructed. 15 river bridges are completed and fourare in the advanced stages of construction. Out of 12 stations, five are completed and three more are now reaching completion stage. The station at BKC is an engineering marvel," it added.
