New Delhi, Sept. 27 -- India said today that it has been in active touch with the US over the H-1B visa issue and that it remains engaged at various levels, and added that it is still an evolving situation.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, in a briefing, said, the Ministry and the Indian Embassy in Washington DC have been in active touch with the US administration.

"You would have seen after those changes were announced, subsequent to that, clarifications and FAQs were issued by the US side as to how it is going to play out. This is still an evolving situation, and we remain engaged at various levels. He referred to the notice by the US Department of Homeland Security regarding the proposed rulemaking and the new changes they want.
