New Delhi, Sept. 19 -- Amid the EU's criticism of India's participation in the Zapad exercise with Russia, the MEA said today that several other countries, including NATO members such as the US, Turkiye and Hungary have also participated in the exercises as observers.

The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said at a briefing today: "As regards the objectives and details of our participation in the ZAPAD exercise in Russia, I would refer you Ministry of Defence press release dated 09 September 2025.
