Chennai, March 17 -- India has created three world records in the cryogenic engine technology, ISRO Chairman Dr V Narayanan said on Monday.

Speaking after launching a a new Research Centre at IIT Madras here, he said India has three different types of cryogenic engine,a technology which was denied to India earlier.

Of the three type of engines one was human-rated, he said, adding, only six countries in the world have this technology and was India was one among them.

He said from engine to test flight, India had mastered it in 28 months, while other countries took between 42 months and 18 years.
