New Delhi, April 2 -- India is actively participating in international discussions on the security of the Strait of Hormuz to ensure safe and uninterrupted passage for its commercial vessels, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "The UK side has invited several countries, which also include India, for talks on the Strait of Hormuz. From our side, the Foreign Secretary is attending the meeting this evening."He added that India has been in direct contact with Iran and other relevant parties to facilitate safe transit for ships carrying key products such as LPG and LNG.
