New Delhi, Oct. 2 -- India today condemned the terror attack on a synagogue in Manchester in which two people were killed on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

India also said the fact that the attack took place on October 2, Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary which is observed as the International Day of Non-Violence is particularly saddening.

In a statement on X, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said terrorism is a menace which the global community must combat and defeat through united and concerted action.
