New Delhi, Aug. 22 -- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today affirmed India's growing capability in indigenous defence manufacturing, stating that the country has made significant strides towards developing fifth-generation fighter aircraft and aircraft engines.

Speaking at an event here the Defence Minister said, "Today, we have also taken steps towards developing Fifth Generation fighter aircraft. We are also moving towards manufacturing aircraft engines within India. We are going to start engine manufacturing in India in collaboration with the French company Safaran".
