New Delhi, Jan. 9 -- India achieved a significant milestone in domestic fertiliser production in 2025, about 73 per cent of the country's fertiliser requirement was met through domestic manufacturing, an official statement said on Friday here.
The sustained push to boost local production is part of a comprehensive strategy by the Department of Fertilisers to ensure timely and reliable availability of nutrient inputs for farmers across the country.
Government initiatives have focused on long-term supply agreements for key raw materials, strategic diversification of sources, and targeted support for expanding manufacturing capacity.
