New Delhi, Oct. 11 -- India took firm control of the second Test against the West Indies on the second day at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, reaching 427 for 4 at lunch, thanks to an enthralling innings from Yashasvi Jaiswal and a captain's knock from Shubman Gill.
Resuming from their overnight 318 for 2, India looked poised for a big score, and Jaiswal, in classic stroke-filled fashion, carried on where he left off. The left-hander blazed his way to 175, decorating his innings with 22 fours, before a calamitous mix-up with Gill brought an end to his vigil just shy of a double century.
