Shimla, March 9 -- South Africa's High Commissioner to India, Prof. Anil Sooklal, called on Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania at the Assembly Secretariat here on Monday and discussed strengthening diplomatic and cultural ties between the two countries.
Prof. Sooklal arrived at the Legislative Assembly at around 4 PM along with his wife Dr. Nelistera Sooklal Singh and South Africa's Deputy High Commissioner Cedric C. Crowley.
The Speaker warmly welcomed the visiting delegation and honoured them with a traditional Himachali cap, shawl and bouquet. Assembly Secretary Yashpal Sharma was also present on the occasion.
