New Delhi, March 27 -- The European union and India have signed a key working arrangement to deepen cooperation in industrial aviation production, with a focus on boosting domestic manufacturing and aligning with global safety standards.

The agreement, concluded between the European union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), aims to support "industrial cooperation between India and the EU" while advancing the government's 'Make in India' initiative.

The arrangement includes plans for the assembly of Airbus Helicopters H125/AS350 helicopters in Karnataka, marking a significant step in localising aviation production in India.
