New Delhi, May 14 -- India and Arab nations need to work together to eliminate terrorism and extremism that pose a serious threat to world peace, a top diplomat said on Wednesday.

"We share a common stance in combating extremism and security threats emanating from across borders. We can achieve this objective of fighting against terrorism through intelligence sharing and joint initiatives," Ambassador of the League of Arab states Yusuf Mohamed Jameel said here.

"The aim is to foster peace and security in the world", the Ambassador said in a statement.

Strongly condemning the Pahalgam attack in which 26 people, including 25 tourists, were killed, Jameel said it is not only a "barbaric act but also inhumane".
