New Delhi, Oct. 29 -- union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, today met with the Committee on International Trade Affairs (INTA) from the European Parliament in New Delhi, a statement from her ministry today said. The meeting focuses on enhancing India-EU trade and investment ties. Both sides expressed interest in deepening and mutually beneficial cooperation.
The meeting comes as India and the EU are in the middle of working towards resuming talks on a free trade agreement (FTA). Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal recently had "intense but very productive" engagements with EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maros Sefcovic, indicating progress in the negotiations.
