New Delhi, Dec. 15 -- India and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have signed agreements for five development loans totaling over USD 2.2 billion, a government release said on Monday. The substantial financing is earmarked to bolster key national initiatives in skilling and solar energy, along with major infrastructure, healthcare, and ecotourism projects across three states.

The loans aim to advance India's national flagship programmes and support state-level initiatives in Assam, Tamil Nadu, and Meghalaya.

The five projects covered by the financing are:Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded Industrial Training Institutes Programme: $846 million.
