New Delhi, Dec. 2 -- The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) registered a slowest year-on-year growth of 0.4 per cent (Quick Estimate) in October 2025 as compared to 3.7 per cent in October 2024, driven by notable deceleration in the mining and electricity sector, said Rajeev Juneja, President of PHDCCI on Monday.
The mining sector registered a negative growth rate of (-1.8 per cent) in October 2025, compared to a 0.9 per cent growth in the corresponding month of the previous year.
Moreover, the electricity sector also witnessed a sharp contraction, with production declining from 2 per cent growth in October 2024 to (-6.9 per cent) in October 2025.
