Satara, Jan. 4 -- The 99th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan today passed a resolution demanding that the central government should immediately incorporate the disputed areas on Maharashtra and Karnataka border in Maharashtra by adopting universally accepted principles of village factors, geographical contiguity, relative multilingualism and people's will.

On concluding day of the four-day Marathi Sahitya Sammelan held at Chhatrapati Shahu Stadium in Satara city, a resolution to this effect waspassing today, saying for last 69 years, about 25 to 30 lakh Marathi speakers from 865 villages on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border have been agitating through democratic means for their merger into Maharashtra.
